Sonacay is the Calo word for gold, which is known as the "colour of the Rumba" as well as being most prized by Gitanos (so called "Gypsies"). Calo is the Gitano language.

Little is known of Sonacay. There is only one known recording, which was originally entitled "California". Although the band is from España, and was based there, the CD was released on the Iceland label only in Deutschland.
